To kick off Alex’s "The Driver" European Book Tour, Team Polizei’s UK-based Master Pilot Michael Ross procured yet another addition to the Polizei fleet - a black 2000MY E39 BMW M5, 144R. This one sports a roll cage, a noticeably lower suspension and numerous as yet-unrevealed invisible modifications. Aside from accompanying Roy und Ross on future European events, 144R is also being prepped for a dash/run/lap that will be revealed soon. Very soon. Stay tuned.

petey — The new M5 got nice engine but sucks ass otherwise, the new even features a buick-inspired (but much nicer than buick) grandma dashboard, contrary to the E39’s master piloten seat where by sitting down @ the driver’s seat you find yourself in a cockpit.
Hey, I think I was there when the window shot was taken…..I was walking back to my car and this bald headed American guy was taking pictures (wearing an orange Polizei Jacket). Really nice guy.

Predictions? I say the team are using it to make an assault on the Carrera Panamericana. Roll cages are required for this, and it’s a Race (not a rally) on public roads with the full support of the local government. It’s all of the speed with none of the dangers of hurting non-participants. My dream event and I bet Alex’s too.
Are you going to trust the Europeans to do all the Mods for R, or are you shipping her back to AI design? I want Antennae!!!

on your european tour you should pay a visit to the tt-circuit of Assen in the Netherlands with the 144R. It is a very exciting track and every year the MotoGP and Superbike series race there.
