Gran Turismo Winners Get To Drive Real Skyline GT-Rs

We all know people who are great drivers in the real world but can’t complete a lap in Gran Turismo. Now Nissan Europe and Sony are trying to find out if gamers can transfer their skills to the real world. Starting on June 2nd, Playstation3 owners can submit their fastest times in a 350Z on the Eiger Nordwand track. The 20 fastest drivers will be invited to compete face-to-face in July, with the three fastest invited to enroll in GT Academy in Silverstone in England using a Skyline GT-R. As this comes from Nissan Europe, no word yet on whether non-europeans will be allowed to participate.

Whats the sound of a gameing nerd hitting the wall at 100mph?

exactly what you think it would sound like.

…and if that gamer hits the wall when nobody is there to see/hear it - will the insurance adjuster find that a collision never happened?

PS3 only… too bad, I don’t have a PS3… and I don’t live in Europe. Oh well, the idea is pretty cool. I just hope nobody slams into the wall.

what is with all the worry about hitting a wall? don’t you just bounce off it and keep going? i mean thats what my cars always did in gran turismo…

Sound’s like a good deal too me. Will take a lot of work to get that sort of time. Sound’s like a easy thing to exploit security flaws though.

Is there not a age restriction for under 18’s, as that is the minium age to take part in motorsport, if this is included?

I’m pretty upset about this. I want to participate. Wonder why players from the colonies were’nt included?
