Clever, But Will It Work?

Getting a plate with similarly shaped numbers and letters could work, depending on the resolution of the speed camera’s photos. But this guy blew it by revealing his name and allowing his SUV to be on camera. You’d think that all the AZ authorities have to do is compile a short list of similar license plates and find the one that matches his vehicle.

it’s old news to me, i tried doing it probably a year ago with a NEW YORK plate[I personally tried some 20 combos] and either they’re already taken or the DMV puts all the possible combos in the UNAVAILABLE bin with all the curse words

…also for his plate to work against speeding cameras and red light cameras, there’s gotta be someone else with a similar plate and vehicle…i’m sure the DMV has a search engine like the one on iTunes…where it eliminates items as you type in another character or letter…it’s good if cops are trying to get your plate on the highway, because the camera will become useless, and the cop won’t be able to make out anything…

I don’t live in NY, so I am going to try to get one of those. Awesome.

Dado has done that for years with his M3’s plates. I think he used B and 8 though.

In Washington I have seen twice where people use an “E” in place of and “F”, because some plate frames sit a little high at the bottom, and block the base of the letters.

A plate reading “EUNKY1″ would be reported in as Funky1, and allow them freedom from the wonderful phone-in citizens.

    Love the creativity!

at the end of the day all these fancy combos, they make you’re head hurt trying to come up with them and how to either convince the DMV to give it to you or keep it…a good ol’ fashioned flipper/roller with a couple plates on it works even best[if you use it without being seen]

I have a team etc. and we are going to try Cannonball in 29 hours in June of 2009. So for this I have created a digital licence plate wired to a computer in my car, I have tried it locally and have had great success. I’m gonna test it long run, across my state here soon. We’ll see how it goes.
