Want to break the 31:04 cross country record? You’ll need an hour to watch this - my recent talk @ Google’s New York HQ, where for the first time in public I discuss and display Team Polizei’s heretofore totally secret 2-year plan for assaulting the 1983 32 hour 7 minute record. If you’ve been waiting to see our Herculean Google Earth map analysis of speed traps and the electronic countermeasure suite described in "The Driver", you might even love this as much as my new friends at the Food & Beverage Institute down in Quantico, Virginia…where I gave a private talk about details that still haven’t seen the light of day. (Never heard of the Institute? HINT: They love cars. And tech.)
Watch my FULL ONE HOUR Google talk AND check out the most shocking Polizei M5 sighting of all time…after the jump:

After a heated battle with Lamborghini pilot and Bullrun veteran Bill Wu, Team Arbuckle, in their lightly massaged 2004 BMW 330Ci, arrived first into the Rancho Santa Fe checkpoint with Wu right on their tail. Third was nailed by Ashley Van Dyke and Eric Ward, who took a different route from HRE Wheels shop (where Arbuckle also arrived first) in Vista to the palatial spread north of San Diego. Next stop? Qualcomm Stadium and then on to the Ivy Hotel in downtown SD.

A little taste of just one of the projects we’ve been working on. A small piece. Just wait. Check out Seero.com while you’re trying to figure it out. Johnson’s involved. And a few others. Just a couple.

Here it is. Above? The World’s Most Infamous Google kml map file, exported from Earth into Maps. (WARNING - you MUST download Google Earth in order to view the .kml file!) Entitled "Infographic & Validation (V.9)" - this is the same .kml we and Wired.com posted in October 2007 when "The Driver" was released, and shows various milestones our 31:04 Cross Country Run. Enjoy this…just a little tiny taste of what’s coming soon. Very soon, and I’m not merely talking about "32 Hours 7 Minutes"…

Alex and Polizei BMW M5 144B will be at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum on Friday, May 9th, to read excerpts from "The Driver" and show never-seen-before in-car footage of The Battle of Rome, arguably the most compelling chapter of the book. (Really? - Alex)
Dinner and cocktails are included, but it’s going to cost you $45 (and a trip to your closet for something other than driving shoes!) Space is limited, and you must RSVP @ 617-522-6547 x19 or via e-mail. Once you have tickets and sign-up to our Facebook "The Driver" Group and confirm you’re coming @ Team Polizei’s Larz Anderson Event Page.
Cocktails start @ 6pm, the reading and presentation start @ 7:30pm.
PS. Anyone want to join Alex Roy for go-karting Saturday afternoon at F1 Boston?

A little bird in London just informed Polizei HQ that "The Driver" has been selected as Top Gear Magazine’s May Book of the Month.
No higher honor have I ever been paid, but I won’t beleive it until I hold a copy, or at least a scan. If true, I’ve an old friend (and former Gumballer) to thank, but we’ll save his identity for the verification post.
I can’t find it anywhere in NYC. Anyone in the UK have the May issue and a scanner?
