Here it is. Above? The World’s Most Infamous Google kml map file, exported from Earth into Maps. (WARNING - you MUST download Google Earth in order to view the .kml file!) Entitled "Infographic & Validation (V.9)" - this is the same .kml we and Wired.com posted in October 2007 when "The Driver" was released, and shows various milestones our 31:04 Cross Country Run. Enjoy this…just a little tiny taste of what’s coming soon. Very soon, and I’m not merely talking about "32 Hours 7 Minutes"…

The UK’s Finest News Source* - also known as the Daily Sport - published the third of seven excerpts from "The Driver" today, and the headline must be the best quote of all time.

The UK’s Finest News Source* - also known as the Daily Sport - published the second of seven excerpts from "The Driver" today, and somehow their photographer managed to make Michael Ross and I look exactly as pale and menacing as our enemies say we do in our day-to-day lives. Maybe it’s the black & white…either way, score two (!) for tabloid journalism!
The UK’s Finest News Source* - also known as the Daily Sport - published the first of seven excerpts from "The Driver" today, obviously targeted at the very same readership I had in mind when I wrote the book…and that I belong to :-). I have to say I’m also a big fan of the liquor ad on the left side of my full page spread. If you have to ask (and you’re NOT at work) please click through for The Daily Sport’s homepage. It’s like dogs and cats, sleeping together. Rumors has it he liked "The Driver". OK, I’m lying. I have no idea if he’s even seen it. Maybe he just saw this. Still, keep your eyes open and Tivos ready next week. Anything’s possible. Unless someone shows up with a talking dog, I’ll be there with clips from "32 Hours 7 Minutes". Maybe.
Will there be damage? Weather? Darkness? Repairs? New cars? What’s his favorite car? Track? Controller or pedals? Did he like "The Driver"? But what about damage? I want damage!!???!!!
Kazunori Yamauchi. Pronounce it as you wish. You cannot but honor the man who has both educated countless millions in vehicle dynamics and unknown marques AND angered almost as many wives and girlfriends.
Kazunori Yamauchi. The creator of Gran Turismo 1, 2, 3, 4…and soon 5.
I’m probably the least physically fit man ever profiled in Men’s Journal, so a big thank you to their auto editor Eddie Alterman for getting me yet another unexpectedly big peice. Again, you’ll have to buy a print copy of the January issue to read it, or wait until it goes online next month.
