Our Secret Is Revealed. The Driver. 32 Hours, 7 Minutes. The Plan. The Car. The Assault on the US Transcontinental Record.

After two years of secrecy, the true story of our secret project - as told in "The Driver" and to be seen in the upcoming "32 Hours, 7 Minutes" - is revealed.

Esquire ran a blurb that hinted at it last week, but it was Jalopnik moved first. Wired will run a huge story online tomorrow morning. Autoblog will follow, then the New York Times, 0-60, GT Spirit & Fast Lane Daily.

This is what "The Driver" is about. Read it. Tomorrow.

Team Polizei Wallpaper of the Day #15

Team Polizei Wallpaper of the Day #15 shows the Polizei M5 stopped at the foot of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco on the 2004 Gumball 3000…one of the few calm moments on one of the fastest and most difficult driving days in Gumball history.

Polizei M5 Featured in Inaugural Issue of 0-60!

A big congratulations and thanks to our old friend Brian Scotto, founder of the all-new car enthusiast magazine 0-60, whose gorgeous inaugural issue looks and feels like an American version of EVO - my long-time favorite of the UK car mags. Autoblog agrees, calling 0-60 "…a reason to wait by the mailbox again…"

Brian was kind enough to feature my Polizei M5 in the front of the first issue - with a full two-page photospread of the interior taken by master car photographer Jonathan Bushell - but you’ll have to buy it on the news-stand to see it.

I don’t often recommend subscribing to print publications, but this is one worth paying for.

“The Driver” UK Book Cover Revealed

US Cover (Click for Hi-Rez)  UK Cover (Click for Hi-Rez)

Ebury Press, a division of Random House, has released a near (if not the) final version of the UK cover of my memoir "The Driver", and I’ve got say I might even love the 60’s-style cover more than the US edition’s sleek/modern approach. I do find the tagline somewhat amusing, since those aren’t quite the words I would use in conversation to describe my story, nor the story of the myriad surreal characters I’ve met over my years driving. Team Polizei Wallpaper of the Day #12

Team Polizei Wallpaper of the Day #12 is from the start of our very first rally…literally…it was taken in the first ten seconds after our leap off the Start Line of the 2003 Gumball 3000 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. Our trusty Valentine 1 Radar Detector is visible on the top left, our now-retired Uniden BC795 Radio Scanner is on our BMW M5’s dashtop, and one of our roof-mounted police light’s power cables is dangllng down through the sunroof.

Team Polizei Wallpaper of the Day #2

Here’s the Team Polizei Wallpaper of the Day #2, from the 2006 Gumball 3000 London start line. This is one of my favorite team pictures, and was taken by old friend and ally, the increasingly famous Jonathan Bushell.
