Sir Edmund Hillary Has Left Us (Updated)

Sir Edmund Hilary died today. He and Roger Bannister’s examples held my commitment firm during the darkest days of planning the final 31:04 cross-country record run of October 2006.

I owe Hilary much, Bannister the rest.

UPDATE: Read/Listen to the NPR story on him here.

Team Polizei Press Page Updated. Finally.

For everyone who’s been asking for me to update our Press page with everything that’s run in recent months, here you go. And yes, I know Letterman hasn’t happened…but a little bird told me something.

Anyway, I still need to cross-link the (temporarily orphaned page of) reviews for "The Driver" and our as-yet updated video links, but 95% of the U.S. links are there. Europe is coming soon.

Alex Roy Podcast Interview with Blogger Tim Ferriss

Adventurous Uber Mega-blogger and author Tim Ferriss interviewed me yesterday, and the podcast has gotten a lot of feedback. Check it out here, as I will be responding to the comments through the night…

Alex Roy on NPR’s “All Things Considered” Wednesday! (Update w/Podcast Link)

Finally. It’s True.

My interview on NPR’s All Things Considered will air tomorrow - Wednesday, November 13th. If you aren’t already a fan of this seminal radio show, tomorrow would be a good time to tune. If you are already a fan, please be merciful regarding my attempt to enunciate even a fraction as beautifully as Michelle Norris, who is as gorgeous as she sounds, and who paid me the ultimate NPR interviewer’s compliment…she really liked "The Driver".

Thanks, Michelle.

UPDATE: The podcast is now available here.

Alex Roy. NPR. All Things Considered. Today.

It’s True. Me.
On My Dad’s Favorite Radio Show.

NPR’s All Things Considered. It’s the SuperBowl, the Prada, the World Series, the F1 of radio talk shows. Were my father still with us, had I ever suggested NPR would have me as a guest on…er…my activities as depicted in "The Driver", well, I really can’t guess what his response might have been.

We’re recording today, mid-day, and I will report back as soon as I know when the interview will air. I’m truly honored to have been invited, which is why it’s best I go to bed and get some rest.
