From storm chasers, to "shambulances" and contaminated NASA engineers, the list of ploys to escape conviction never ceases to amaze, not just for their comedic benefits but also for their ability to work. Read about US Express winner David Morse’s tactics in the comments section beneath the story.

Here’s some mesmerizing footage of Hamilton’s pass on Raikkonen a few days ago at Spa (scroll down mid-page for video link). Current drivers, Jarno Trulli and Felipe Massa (for obvious reasons) say Hamilton gained an advantage by cutting the chicane, while former champion, Niki Lauda, said it was fair. From the in-car footage, you can hear that Hamilton still accelerated pretty hard out of that chicane before letting him pass and getting a slipstream before the next corner. Hamilton had the faster car and probably should’ve set him up for another corner. And here’s some non-controversial, yet equally mesmerizing, in-car footage of practice laps.

Perhaps this trucker mis-interpreted the meaning of EZ Pass. When asked later about his disappearing plate, the trucker said he didn’t know anything about it. Apparently the wire (that was connected to the hinged plate) that stuck out of the cigarette lighter socket didn’t seem out of place. He would probably still be using it had it not been for a Port Authority cop driving alonside him.

It’s called GTS World Racing by Pazzazz Games and just from the YouTube video, you can tell there’s a night and day difference between this game and the Audi A4 iPhone game we hated a couple of weeks ago. We have yet to download it out of the fear of it becoming a major timesuck in the office but may have to as a service to our readers. It’s also available for Palm OS, Pocket PC and Windows Mobile Smartphone.

We just played it. It’s pretty primitive. Don’t expect PSP graphics or user friendliness or an in-car view. Do expect to be confused for the first few laps as you adjust to the overhead view and counter-intuitive responses. We expected more from a company who claim "Advancement Through Technology" (Vorsprung durch Technik) and have given the world gems like the Quattro, LeMans-winning diesels and the R8. And, yes, we know it’s just a marketing gimmick to drive traffic to the new A4 website but this might be more harmful than helpful to Audi’s brand image.
ALEX WRITES: I’m hijacking Peter’s post. I know Audis. I love Audis. I’ve owned several Audis - a ‘96 A4 & a ‘00 S4 - yet however improved the B8 chassis, whoever greenlit the budget for this thing should be fired, forced to pay back the money wasted, and his boss forced to play it for 31 hours and 4 minutes. Non-stop.
Redflex, the largest red-light/speed camera contractor in the U.S., is being investigated by the FCC after their competitor, ATS, filed a complaint with the FCC accusing Redflex of using radar equipment that has yet to win FCC approval. Because of this complaint, Arizona’s Department of Public Safety ordered Redflex’s mobile photo radar vans to be taken off state highways. This of course begs the question: If an un-approved camera issues a citation, is that ticket valid? If not, then does this mean that those ticketed by the un-approved camera/radar be eligible for a refund? Any lawyers or law school students want to chime in?

Start the pun machine and crank up the euphemism generator before adding your comments to this one. The Shady Lady Ranch’s offer of a $50 gas card for every $300 one-hour session is definitely more bang for your buck than that car dealer’s offer of a handgun with every car purchase. The owner, James Davis, said business has been "rocking along," with market penetration so good they ran out of $1000 worth of gas cards in the first week. No word yet on what one has to pay to get a free car wash.

We all know people who are great drivers in the real world but can’t complete a lap in Gran Turismo. Now Nissan Europe and Sony are trying to find out if gamers can transfer their skills to the real world. Starting on June 2nd, Playstation3 owners can submit their fastest times in a 350Z on the Eiger Nordwand track. The 20 fastest drivers will be invited to compete face-to-face in July, with the three fastest invited to enroll in GT Academy in Silverstone in England using a Skyline GT-R. As this comes from Nissan Europe, no word yet on whether non-europeans will be allowed to participate.

Just in time for GT5 Prologue’s release comes this report from Discovery News, which gives a scientific/medical term to what most people have already known - that too much gaming and not enough real social interaction can be harmful.
