Gordon Murray, designer of the Brabham BT46B "Fan Car", Ayrton Senna’s MP4/4, the McLaren F1, the Rocket and soon the T-25 city car, answered questions from NYTimes readers. A couple of the highlights from the Q&A include him saying that it’s the twilight of performance cars and that he would only change the brakes and headlights of the F1 in order to compete with today’s supercars.

Former F1 driver Ricardo Patrese takes his wife for a lap of Jerez in a Honda Civic Type-R and hilarity ensues. Patrese’s perma-grin is almost as funny as his wife’s reactions. (Source: Axisofoversteer.com)
…But it’s not clear whether or not he was driving or a passenger when the F430 test-mule/prototype went off the Nurburgring track and into a guardrail at 155mph on the Schwedenkreuz corner. Schumacher reportedly called his publicist to say "We have crashed the car but are going to continue with another one," leaving out the identity of the driver. Some reports said Schumacher’s son Mick was in the passenger seat while Schumacher was at the wheel and others say that a driver named Raffaele De Simon wrecked it with Schumi riding shotgun.
Nazi orgy meister (and embattled FIA president) Max Mosley won a vote of confidence after a extraordinary general assembly meeting today in Paris, with a 103 to 55 vote in favor of keeping him at the helm. Germany’s ADAC, Europe’s biggest automobile association, immediately announced its withdrawal from the group while a spokesman for the American Automobile Association said the AAA would review its position. Mosley’s contract runs to the end of November 2009, and F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone thinks Mosley will run for president after his term expires. Former F1 team owner, Eddie Jordan, thinks Mosley should accept today’s victory and then graciously step down.

Racing Legend Alex Zanardi was kind enough to give me an interview at SEMA 2007, and the FULL interview is now available here and via Garage 419. We discussed the Acura NS-X bearing his name, GT4 and Forza Motorsport, and the accident which changed his life.
A wonderful and humble man.
No point in my commenting. Idiots. OK. I commented. Read it for yourself.

Why is that 75% of people I meet say they’re good (if not great) drivers? I think driver’s ed should begin with this, to be followed by this.
Here’s to race-bred safety technology trickling down to the rest of us as quickly as possible. Robert Kubica’s spectacular crash last week apparently resulted in more than a minor concussion and a temporary limp.
After a year and a half of exhaustive work, I’m proud to say that Harper Collins will release my memoir "The Driver" in the United States on October 8th, 2007. I’m still in the process of planning my book tour, which will be something quite…unexpected.
Sorry for the huge category list, but the book really does cover all these items, and more.
May I suggest you pre-order it…er…HERE, but the book cover isn’t up yet.
