"Les Go Fast" was what the French police called a group of drug couriers who used high-end German cars to transport coke and weed throughout Europe. Carrying up to 1400 lbs of contraband, "Les Go Fast" were famous for using an SUV as a "rabbit" to spot police and run over any that tried to block the road. They didn’t go the stealth route, they simply drove so fast it would have been too dangerous to try to stop them.
Now there’s a movie coming out about them on October 10th. Unfortunately…for many…it’ll only be released in France. (Thanks to Chris M. for the tip…)

People who knew Serena Sutton-Smith said she had a history of erratic behavior. The 54 year-old bartender emerged from a side road without stopping, nearly causing an accident with Paula Small. Small then pulled over to speak with Sutton-Smith and while Small was getting out of her car, Sutton-Smith rammed her Vauxhall Nova into Small’s Fiat Punto and then kept her foot on the accelerator.

And the hits just keep coming! On his way to a private airfield, Schumacher was attempting a pass another car and hit Martin Kingham while the man was closing a security gate that extended onto the street. After the impact catapulted him face-down onto the hood of a nearby van, Kingham said Schumacher was furious with him, yelling, "What the f*****g hell were you doing in the road?"

…But it’s not clear whether or not he was driving or a passenger when the F430 test-mule/prototype went off the Nurburgring track and into a guardrail at 155mph on the Schwedenkreuz corner. Schumacher reportedly called his publicist to say "We have crashed the car but are going to continue with another one," leaving out the identity of the driver. Some reports said Schumacher’s son Mick was in the passenger seat while Schumacher was at the wheel and others say that a driver named Raffaele De Simon wrecked it with Schumi riding shotgun.

Do you feel for the car or feel for the guy who wrecked it? Self-proclaimed Prince Marcus Eberhard Edward of Anhalt (some dispute whether or not he can claim that title) and pornographer to "the simple people," wrecked his rare Gemballa Mirage GT at Circuit Paul Ricard recently. It’s not known whether or not the "thumbs down" sign rates his driving skills or his Q rating amongst people who know of him.

Top Gear co-host, Tanner Foust, gives some details about the up-coming show to Jonny Lieberman. He reiterates much of what Adam Carrola said; that they’ll be given free reign to say what they want (and later in the interview he self-censors himself when he puts down econoboxes). The format will be very much the same as the UK’s version, albeit shorter because of commercials. And, as for fellow co-host, Eric Stromer, Foust says that while he’s not a techincal "car guy," he will represent much of their audience; everyday people who aren’t complete gearheads but like cars.

So it’s Adam Carolla, Tanner Faust and Eric Stromer. Who? We don’t know either because we don’t watch enough Home and Garden TV. The real question is: Will it make a difference who the hosts are when it’s an NBC product? Meaning, will NBC water it down and refrain from negative reviews out of fear of angering its advertisers? Being that car commercials, along with alcohol and pharmaceuticals, are the 3 biggest ad revenue generators for television, it’s doubtful.

Actually, he knew about Peak Oil long before it became a fringe element concern and then a mainstream phenomenon affecting all of our lives, hence, the Invasion of Iraq, holders of the 3rd largest reserves of oil on the planet. His real motive for getting an LXV 150 has to be his concern for the environment and his desire to reduce his carbon footprint, isn’t it?
