“The Driver” Book Tour Begins! (Stage 1: NY-Charleston SC)

Alex Roy & Matt Farah will depart NYC in the Polizei M5 this morning and head south on Day 1 of "The Driver" Book Tour.

First Stop? Charleston, SC…halfway to the Miami Auto Show starting Friday, November 10th! Keep your eyes open for Team Polizei when they make a ONE(!) day appearance on Saturday, November 11th at the Florida International Auto Show in Miami!

ETA Charleston SC - 11/7 - 2300hr
Location - TBD

ETA Miami Beach FL - 11/8 - TBD
South Beach - TBD

Google Maps & Earth will be used for tour updates and tracking. Video will be accumulated. Technology will be deployed. Laws will be obeyed. Patience will be demonstrated. Friends will be visited. Foes will be avoided.

If you’re interested in convoying with Alex & Matt southward, or meeting them late at night on November 7th in Charleston SC, please post your interest here in the comments. They and Polizei HQ will be posting progress and tracking feedback. Or…this might all be a ruse in their effort to go somewhere else altogether….

(Travel and Appearances notwithstanding…Alex will do his best to respond to non-tour related inquiries, which may have to wait until next week.)

Team Polizei Withdraws From 2007 Gumball 3000

In view of events of the past day, Alex Roy and Michael Ross of Team Polizei have withdrawn from the 2007 Gumball 3000 Rally. They are driving to Bratislava to thank the fans that have traveled from so far. They will make a further statement as soon as circumstances permit.

Team Polizei vs. The Glorious Road Ministry of Albania

Team Polizei offered a truce to the Albanian Ministry of Transportation and Livestock this evening; this was only after successfully navigating the Polizei M5 across a few hundred miles of goat paths.

Team Polizei Attempts Athens to Tirana Slowcut!

Team Polizei successful retrieved the Polizei M5 this morning, departing at 1230hr local time. The team’s strategy to get a hotel room at the airport last night as opposed to staying at the Athens Hilton paid off, being that they were one of the first to retrieve their car. Alex Roy, Michael Ross, Davey Johnson of Jalopnik and a French cameraman are now leading by more then 40 miles on an alternative route to Tirana.

Twenty Years of Gumball Experience United!

Team Polizei has joined forced with Jarod DeAnda and Andrew ‘Fly’ Tipping to drive from Istanbul to Athens. Herr Roy has made it very clear that air travel is out dated and has decided to drive to Athens instead of wait for the Gumball plane in Istanbul, which still has yet to arrive. Team Turkish Taxi is also driving to Athens, following several miles behind. Being that Team Polizei is not in the Polizei M5, rather in a VW Sharan, track their progress using ALK Tracker ID "Team 15".

Autobahn Roadblock a Mere Speed Bump for Team Polizei!

After a police escort early this morning, the Gumballers finally made it to Hahn Airport, just west of Frankfurt. Team Polizei’s goal of driving straight to Istanbul was subsequently abandoned after the German Police forbade Herr Roy and Master Piloten Ross from leaving the Hahn checkpoint. Team Polizei therefore joined fellow Gumballers for the plane ride to Istanbul where once they had arrived, received some discomforting news. The planes carrying the cars to Istanbul from Hahn were not allowed to fly to Turkey; instead they were diverted to Athens. As of last report from Team Polizei, Gumball staff has announced that Gumballers will be flown to Athens and the rally will continue from there.
