Now this is odd…and unfortunate. And curious.
I never got the full story of exactly whose Lamborghini Gallardo Pimp My Ride’s Xzibit drove on this year’s Gumball, although I heard a rumor it was provided by Gumball sponsor Adidas, who pulled out in the wake of the tragedy in Macedonia.
The car was returned to its as yet unknown owner on Thursday, May 3rd in Bratislava - after the Gumball’s official cancellation - then resurfaced on eBay last week.
The car was being offered for sale with 10% of the proceeds to be donated to the Cepuljoski family, an effort seemingly parallel to Team Polizei’s own. I contacted the seller via eBay and opened a dialogue regarding how to coordinate our and other efforts on behalf of the Cepuljoskis.
The next day he informed me the auction had been cancelled.
This is a tragic disappointment. I cannot comment on the reasons for the cancellation - and am curious as to whether anyone has any further information - but urge anyone interested in supporting any efforts on behalf of the Cepuljoskis to do diligence on the destination and management of any donations.
Team Polizei is currently cooperating with Gumball Team 53’s Peter Hendricks on joint fundraising efforts. Team Polizei’s Michael Ross is in the final stages of setting up a charitable account in the UK. This entity will be fully transparent and administered by a third-party charitable organization. Details will be provided in the coming days.
Anyone interested in supporting the Cepuljoskis should click here.
Sincerely,
Alex

Yea i was bidding on that car. i have a feeling that adidas has something to do with it being taken off ebay
“I cannot comment on the reasons for the cancellation.”
Ah, intrigue. Kids, today’s word for Adidas is “legalese”.
Hello,
I have send the seller a question via ebay:
Hallo,
Lutz Iffland
And this was the curious answer:
Besten Dank!

I don`t understand this answer.150.000€ should the car bring in, we have customers had those the vehicle immediately for 185.000€ and more would have bought.
Was this auction only a promotion gag for the company?
We will cancel the auction link from our webside today.
The guy selling the ‘Xzibit Gallardo’ appeared on a number of forums and was, to coin a phrase, an ‘aggressive seller’ - in my humble opinion. Sadly, as much as they purported to sell this with a percentage to a good cause, their communication technique lacked in sincerity and appeared to be more defensive then anything else. I’d much rather support Team Polizei’s efforts, to be honest….
So, i asked myself why the car was removed from ebay, because it was like a charity “event”.
I also have to say that i know the owner of the car, because his company (who rents these cars) is located in a town 30km away from my town. After the Gallardo was returned to Leoben I had the chance to take a seat in this car because i am so interested in Gumball. It is a faboulos feeling sitting in this car but anyway I know the owner of this car, but I don’t know why he cancelled the auction.
Can anyone give me a answer for this.
So long Steve
I also think that this auction was only publicity for the company of Mr. Tassis … (Esc Rent)
My take on it (coupled with talking to Exclusive Sports Car Owner about the auction ONLY) is that the vehicle was rented from Andreas’ company. Who paid the rental? Unknown. Anyhow, the vehcile complete with stickers from the rally was returned to rental site after the cancellation. Who renturned it? Unknown again. The rental site owner then put it on Ebay. Ebay pulled the auction because there was mistaken information that Xzibit HIMSELF was auctioning the car. Now, this could be because of various posts Andreas left on many forums and someone contacting Ebay against Andreas’ messages on said forums. Who knows? I only wish Andreas would have auctioned the car without using Xzibit’s name nor imagery in the description. Probably would have done loads better. And that’s my view of it as I have followed Xzibit’s career since last summer for his Offical Fan Site.
