Jason Statham’s CoEfficient of Cool (CEoC) was - as established in The Transporter
Yes. I know it sounds insane, but I’m an action/sci-fi/car movie fanboy at heart, and I just so happened to have been lucky enough to write a book with a little bit of car action that some people want to see made into a movie.
So why did I say was? Well, Statham’s CEoC just took a hit, and I’m more than a little disappointed. I know the bills need to be paid, but was this really necessary?
It’s called In The Name of the King, based on a mediocre video game I briefly played called Dungeon Siege: Here’s the trailer:
AND it’s directed by Uwe Boll, infamous for his terrible canon of work. In case you don’t feel like clicking through, perhaps you remember Alone In The Dark:
I can’t go on about Boll. All I know is that Jason Staham’s .75 CEoC cannot survive one degree of separation from Boll. No amount of money could protect him from agreeing to appear in a Boll film. None…
…which is why Jason Statham’s CoEfficient of Cool has now fallen to a .65, at best.
He should of played Hitman, he was perfect for the role.

still a hollywood movie version would be awesome…they could even break it into parts…since the first two can be about you in GUMBALL 03′ fallowing your attempt at a rondevouz of manhattan, then pt.2 gumball 04 and the 1st attempt…then 06, attempt 2 and the 31:04 {with the closing scenes being off the 07 rally were you all get stopped by the german police…not as a comic ending but as a TEASE {although it’s not a tease but an artistic way to end the movie} to a possible 4th movie, yet pt. 3 is left being a thing of AWE, LEGEND, MYTH, & CLOSURE}
I could see a hollywood version of “The Driver” coming out. And by that I mean there’s some “executive” sitting up in an office somewhere in LA with a copy of the book saying “Damn! We could make LOADS of money on this!”
Alex, should something like that happen please, please, PLEASE do not let them dilute the scope of your book just so the studio can make a quick buck!
A question though, since Statham’s standards have obviously taken a nosedive, who would you prefer to fill the role?
I don’t know, he was good in The Italian Job, better in The Transporter (Mk1), but the second Transporter needed weird Eurotrash chicks to make the film a hit, and Statham sold his soul to the devil when he decided to go with a D3 A8L for his ride. He’s maybe a .45 in my book.
Statham was actually offered the role of Hitman. He is one of the coolest actors around. he was awesome in The Transporter and even more so in Crank.
Hey Alex, give the guy a break, look at Jamie Fox who right after he won the oscar in Ray made the movie Stealth and Michael Caine who wasn’t there to accept his oscar because he was shooting Jaws the Revenge. eh then again I do own the transporter 2 and the unrelated big trouble in little china (quite possibly the worst movie ever made), so what do I know?
I do not trust a man who fronts upon the glorious Big Trouble in Little China. I just can’t.
