A bad piezo sensor caused high readings. Five hundred and eighty-nine drivers were issued tickets. The city of Scottsdale, AZ, has since refunded the 36 who’ve paid and notified others that the fines will be cancelled, losing out on an estimated $100K-125K in revenue. This begs the question: So if you ever get a photo radar ticket, how will you know the piezo or any other part of the radar is working properly? Are you just supposed to trust them?

My old driving instructor has had 5 tickets candled or refunded by just asking to see the calibration test of the camera!!
Because if they are using it to enforce the law (or make money) they have to prove it works accurately… (Its like shops have to have there scales tested if they are selling products by weight)
I also think Nick Freeman (aka Mr Loophole) has managed to get celebrities off there driving charges by using this defence… It’s always worth a try…
See you in London Alex…
