32 Hours 7 Minutes is done. Locked. Well, almost. The music is almost done. But I’ve seen it. All 98 minutes, and, amazingly, Cory Welles somehow managed to include about 90 minutes of fantastic footage I’d never seen before, which is hard to believe…since I’ve watched a three hour rough cut about 200 times in the last year.
And…she’s just submitted it to the Sundance Film Festival, which means if we get in you’ll be seeing it soon. If we don’t get it, you’re going to see it soon anyway. The difference? You might see it limited release, or wide release, or some combination of release in major markets and then on DVD. Or maybe Cory has a surprise even I don’t know about.
Maybe.

Awesome news! I can’t wait. I’m proud of all you guys for the work you’ve done and I’ll definitely be waiting on the edge of my seat for the release.
fantastic
Very good to hear!
I’ll take a DVD with TONS of deleted scenes/extras, please and thanks!
Congrats!! I’ve been waiting so long for this, I will see it (if it comes out near me) and order the DVD as soon as its out!!!
If it’s even a quarter as good as the book then it will be awesome. I can’t wait - and I hope you get it out in europe on the big screen as well as DVD.
Congrats to everyone involved!!
Can’t wait… Alex, lets set up some screens of it!!
Literally can’t wait to see it!!
Amazing news! Finally! Region 2 edition, chock full of extras, on Amazon.co.uk ASAP, please…
98 minutes only? Kind of sucks its shortish.
The DVD better have that 3 hour cut on it.
ALEX WRITES: The DVD will have MUCHO extras. Trust me. There’s still a lot more to come. (Hint….)
Ya, can’t wait to see it hopefully in a theater halfway near me. And can’t wait until I can order it on DVD the first day it is on preorder.
awesome, can’t wait!
B
Alex, get some studded tires on the 144A… because Park City here we (you) come! I’ll see you at the Sundance “Best of Fest” showing January 26th.
is there going to be a special edition with a 31 hours straight cut of the run - haha -
I second Rick’s suggestion.
@Rick & Stan:
You’re reading my mind!
Best, Alex
Congrat’s to Herr Roy and his 144 crew! When will you be doing your European tour?
Seriously, I think you should upload the full 31h on the net, or at least you should cut it yourself, to, lets say 2h(isht?) Cuz driving through the cities would b awesome 2 see and then some interesting stuff…but at night, just watching pitch black would b a waste of bandwith. So get to your computer, cut cut cut and then upload upload upload (to RS please:P)
Gumball 144 fan,
reader of The Driver,
will watch 3207:)
Take care!
1 more thing: any news on the longer version of the battle for rome?
I’m excited to see this, truly am. I loved the book Alex! Can’t wait to see this, weither it goes to big screen or straight to DVD I’m on it!
I 3rd Ricks comment and was also wondering when the longer version of the Battle for Rome will be uploaded?
Good luck; can’t wait!
I can not wait to see this film. As soon I have the opprotunity to see or purchase this film I am there. I preordered the book and I will most definitely preorder the DVD if thats an available option
What type of cameras were used in the film? I was curious if we could get a Blu-Ray release but that might be asking way too much. Then again.. 30 hours might be able to fit onto one Blu-Ray disc with standard format… haha.
Looking forward to (finally) seeing it…
this is great news! read the book and have been waiting for the film.
I hope you release the full 31 hours on DVD I definitely want a copy as well as a DVD of 32:07.
I’m all for the unedited raw footage as well.
B
Use DVDShrink and see if you can get the total number of disks down to ummmm… Anyway, I’d like a copy of the 31-hour 12-disk set myself.
That is great news! I’m all for a director’s cut DVD, too!!!
