Doubtful. All of the teams were given plenty of time to test the McLaren-made ECU’s over the winter, and if they haven’t figured them out by now, then it’s on them. You don’t hear the other teams complaining. If McLaren was somehow so technically-advanced as to be able to cause a breakdown of another team’s car, then kudos to them for developing the technology. This is somewhat like the rumor in the late 80’s about Honda being able to change ECU settings in their cars remotely from Japan during a race.

Keep an eye out for the May issue of European Car. Inside is a story about what it’s like to drive with Roy as he and the writer, some guy named, Peter Wu, "take it easy" from NY to LA. In other news, Stirling Moss is named Greatest Formula 1 Driver of All Time even though he never won the championship. Schumacher is ranked 11th best by the author Alan Henry. Motor Trend says the IS-F can’t beat the Merc C63 or M3. And speed cameras are on fire again in the UK. Drive Safely!

Motorauthority via Auto Bild reported that BMW is considering adding a tii option to the next generation 3er. Offering a better-performing 3er than the stock version may force BMW to make their next M3 even more formiddable. Either way, if the next 3er looks anything like these artist’s renderings, we’d be happy. Auto Motor und Sport says BMW is considering a city car. And the Harrington Group out of the UK is making electric Isetta replicas that get 59 mies per charge. Li-ion batteries will soon be replacing the lead acid batteries for longer range.
