I’ve never understood houseboats. Bad houses, worse boats. How many seemingly congruous combo "things" have ever been as good as their separate components? TV/VCR’s? No. TV’s can last decades, yet VCRs seldom last 5 years. TV/DVD players? Same problem. SUV’s? If you want a sports car yet need a truck, even a Porsche Cayenne Turbo isn’t as good a sports car or truck as the Porsche Cayman S and Ford F-150 you could buy for the Cayenne’s $115,000+.
Nine out of ten illegal cross-country racers agree…the $400 Valentine 1 Radar/Laser Detector is El Jefe. Numerous excellent GPS units are available from Garmin, Tom Tom and Magellan starting at $200.

Wow. To be listed in the official wiki history as the current cross-country record holder really is something, I think. I’ve still never met Brock Yates, though. I wonder if he’s read "The Driver", because I give him some serious props, if you read between the lines. If I were him, I’d smirk, laugh, call me an idiot and make me buy the first round.

Start your survey of American "Most Dangerous Roads" with Forbes and their fine gallery, then go deep with MSN’s searchable database (excruciating demarcated by County), then move beyond the US with an International Top 5 starting with Bolivia’s "Road of Death", then check out USAToday’s seemingly well-researched but yet un-linked International Top 23, then move onto the hardcore knowledge…

Here’s yet another picture of yet another un-produced Corvette - far cooler than any Corvette ever actually built. Check out Winding Road’s post on the possibility of a mid-engined Corvette. Now…if only GM would install a real interior. They could charge a few grand extra over the sticker many already agree is low for a car of its caliber. I’d pay, and I bet I wouldn’t be alone.

This can’t be real. CAN’T be. Does anyone know?
(Thanks, Schtaven!)
Team Polizei Wallpaper #17 (yes, I know they’ve gone from daily to weekly to nearly bi-weekly!) is Polizei E39 Meets Ronin E34. Haven’t seen John (the best car director of all time) Frankenheimer’s Ronin? Watch it…big…ASAP. The white E34
